Whether you’re hot-footing it off on a cheeky city break or you’re planning a longer time away by the beach the good news is that the UK has something for everyone. Of course, sometimes you’ll have to juggle the UK weather but that’s something most of us are used to! So, here are some handy tips for planning a staycation:
What Sort of Holiday Do You Want?
One of the great things about sticking to the UK for your holiday is that we really do have something for everyone. Whether you’re interested in a city break with vibrant nightlife, you want to go camping off the beaten track or you have a keen interest in history there will be somewhere in the UK that ticks all of your boxes. Consider what sort of holiday you want – hotel stay, camper van hire, holiday park etc and then you can stay to get to work on getting things sorted.
Planning & Research
It’s definitely worth doing some research in advance to make sure that you fit in everything you want to on your travels. Booking in advance can often mean you save money on tourist attractions and places of interest so that’s helpful when sticking to a budget. Not only that but having an idea of what is nearby that you want to experience while you are there means that nothing gets missed. You don’t need to set up a strict schedule but a list of what you want to do while you’re there will help you get the most out of your stay.
The Practical Stuff
You will need to give some thought to the practical stuff too – booking time off work, when to travel in terms of cost, making sure someone can feed the cats etc. Getting all of this pencilled in before you book and commit to a stay can help to ensure that your staycation goes as smoothly as possible.
Have fun!
