It’s easy to stick the heating on as soon as the temperature drops and we start to feel a little bit cold. However, this soon adds up and starts adding to your winter bill. Here’s how to save money on your heating.

Consider first adding some extra layers a thick jumper, slipper socks and fleece blankets can help you stay warm without you having to heat the whole house.

Make sure you keep windows and doors shut in the winter to keep as much of the warmth in as possible. Turn off the radiator in rooms you don’t use and concentrate on heating the rooms you use most.

Keeping the House Warm

Make sure your thermostat is set to come on at a reasonable temperature and that your timers are correct. It could also be a good time to get an upgraded thermostat to ensure it is all working correctly and that you are getting the most out of it.

Radiators could also be checked to ensure they are all working correctly and getting as hot as they can. You can get the reflective foil to put behind the radiator which also helps direct the heat back into the room and not waste any of the heat.

To stay warm this winter whilst keeping our bills low we all need to be making some small changes to ensure that we are using our heating when it is most necessary and using other ways to warm up.

Keep Yourself Warm

A big part of reducing your heating bills is about keeping yourself warm rather than the whole house, which can be tough. Blankets, jumpers, slippers and cosy pj’s can make a massive difference and ensure that you feel as warm and cosy as possible.

If you have any ideas on how to save money on your heating we’d love you to share them!
