Reduce The Cost of Clothes – Whichever way you look at it, clothes are a necessity. There are even scenarios that dictate the type of clothes we should wear – a trip to the theatre, going to work etc. This means that whether you want to or not, you’re going to need to spend money on clothing. If you’re like us and spend too much on new clothes then you could be looking at ways to reduce the cost of clothes; we hope these tips help.
Reduce The Cost of Clothes
Shop Second Hand
These days there are so many different platforms for buying and selling second-hand clothing, which means you have more choice than ever. With the likes of Vinted and Facebook Marketplace making it easy for people to sell their clothes, you can often pick up items that have been barely worn for a fraction of the cost they would be if you were to buy brand new. Kids clothes are a great example of buying clothes second hand – kids grow quickly and often before they have had a chance to wear items more than a few times, so picking up items second hand is a great idea,
Offset The Cost
If you want to splurge on fashion then set yourself a challenge of making sure you can offset the cost. If you’re anything like us then you have a wardrobe bursting at the seams full of clothes but full of nothing to wear. Take advantage of the second-hand clothes market and the easy way you can now sell items and get rid of items that you haven’t worn, won’t wear, don’t fit etc. You can then justify spending the money you have raised doing this on new items to love.
Shop Out of Season
Shopping the end of season sales is a great way to save money, as long as you’re organised. The idea of buying out of season is exactly that – so you buy in January for next Christmas and at the end of August for next summer. With children it’s just a matter of working out what size they’ll be by the time season comes back around. At the end of a season shops usually want to get rid of items in order to make room for more stock and as such, it’s a great way to pick up a bargain.
When you combine this with getting inventive and repairing clothes as a way to reduce the cost of clothes you’re on the right track.
