With summer just around the corner, you might be looking for ways to spend your time and make the most of your holiday time this summer. In my opinion, the beach is one of the best places on Earth. The sound of waves lapping against the shore, the salty air, and a perfect view of a clear blue sky make it an ideal destination for anyone – get in touch with a holiday agency or look online and get a trip booked.
But not everyone loves spending their days at the beach. And that’s okay! Even if you don’t like sunbathing or swimming, there are plenty of other things to do at the beach that will make you enjoy your staycation to its fullest.
Here are some fun things to do at the beach besides sunning yourself:
- Hike along miles of beautiful coastline
- Explore tide pools and learn about local marine life
- Play in the surf with your kids or friends
- Build sandcastles or take part in other creative activities

Swim in the Ocean
Swimming in the ocean is one of my favourite things to do when I need to wind down or just relax. The ocean is so much cleaner than a pool, too, which makes me feel better about being in it.
When I go swimming in the ocean, I always have a great time. The water is nicer than any pool I’ve ever been to and it makes for a much more relaxing time when you can actually see what’s below you. It also feels nice knowing that it’s clean and not full of chemicals like chlorine like some pools are because they don’t want people getting sick from all of their germs and stuff like that.
Go for a Bike Ride or Horseback Riding Along The Coastline
Many people think of the coast as a place to go and bike or horseback ride, so this would be a good place to explore.
This is a popular spot for people who like to bike and horseback ride.
The coast is an excellent location for biking and horseback riding.
Find Shells on the Beaches And Make A Pallet of Them For Your Home Décor-in-Progress
It’s a relaxing and rewarding activity to gather shells on the beach.
You can collect shells on the beach and use them for home décor projects. If you’re looking for a weekend project, this might be for you!
Gathering shells is a fun and relaxing activity that can be very rewarding, and it’s also an easy way to add some colour and texture to your home decor. Shell collecting is something you can do with kids too – it makes for a great family outing while teaching them about plants and animals. And if you get bored of gathering the shells yourself, there are many other ways to get your hands on these treasures!
Hike Along The Coastal Trail To Watch The Sun Set Behind The Rock Formations Of Ancient Mountains & Clouds That
Some people hike different trails to see the changing of seasons. Others find it more interesting to watch from a distance as the sun sets behind the shapes of mountains.
There are many hiking trails that one can take through coastal towns that allow for some spectacular views. A coastal trail is an easy hike for those who want to take in all its beauty without too much difficulty. It is a 3-mile loop with no steep inclines or declines.
